RUE GRANDE PART UN

As you make your way down Rue Grande, you’ll be greeted by numerous art galleries. Feel free to check out the local art scene by making a stop at one or two shops. Did you know that world-renowned artist Marc Chagall lived in Saint-Paul-de-Vence for 20 years? You could very well be walking where he once roamed!

MONTEE DE LA CASTRE/RUE DE LA CASSETTE

On Montee de la Castre and Rue de la Cassette, you’ll find a beautiful scene awaiting you at every turn. It felt like I was walking through the set of a live-action Beauty and the Beast movie! At the junction of these streets is a charming house with ivy climbing up its walls. If only I could live there!

This stunning house is the former home of poet Jacques Prevert. Did you know you can stay at this property? Imagine being able to wake up and sip your morning coffee in your own private courtyard. There’s even a friendly cat that lives there too!

FOUNTAINE DE SAINT PAUL DE VENCE

This fountain is located in one of the prettiest courtyards I’ve ever seen. The buildings truly looked magical in the morning light. If you’re looking for a place to eat, take the stairs on the right. They’ll lead you right to Cafe Timothe, where they’re known for their tartines and quiches.

RUE GRANDE PART DEUX

Towards the end of Rue Grande, you’ll discover some of the most picturesque spots in town. Once you reach the end of the street, continue on to the Panorama d’une Terrasse, where you’ll  see sweeping views of the cemetery, countryside, and sea. Fun fact: you can visit Marc Chagall’s grave in the cemetery!

MAILBOXES

While walking around the village, I noticed that every mailbox was individually hand-painted with different landscapes. I only captured the one shown below, but I wished I had taken more. The attention to detail was incredible!
